Our report on BC’s Missing Abortion Data 2012 is now available.
I’m sure it will be largely ignored, since the abortion issue can hardly be called a “subject of interest” to most in the media establishment.
I wonder why there are those who will happily see the infringements of information rights on this issue, but not on others?
As we have often said, Right to all or none at all!
‘‘…the overarching purpose of access to information Legislation is to facilitate democracy. It helps to ensure first, that citizens have the information required to participate meaningfully in the democratic process, and secondly, that politicians and bureaucrats remain accountable to the citizenry.’’ -Dagg v Canada (Minister of Finance) 1997
Some consistency on Freedom of Information is called for, one would think.
