Oh bother. Once again the nice boys and girls who work in the Ministry of Truth have decided that reporting on ANY complications of abortion is forbidden. My FOI request directed to the Vancouver Coastal Health Authority, asked for “Postoperative complications and Intraoperative complications” for Vancouver General Hospital.
That request has been denied, based on Section 22.1 of The Act.
You can read the entire refusal here. Naturally, this will be appealed.
But, you see, the only statistics that are allowed to be reported in British Columbia are statistics relating to the TOTAL amount of abortions performed.
The public is forbidden to know any information on abortion complications. Anywhere. Throughout the Province.
Why is that?
Is there possibly any argument that anyone can muster that would defend the notion that citizens in a democracy are forbidden in knowing what complications are associated with a medical procedure, paid for with their tax dollars?
Let’s see how long it takes for someone with a sense of logic to report on this.
